About the FreedomWeeder
Initially glimpse, the FreedomWeeder just appears like a long plastic tube with some PVC parts screwed on completions. But looks can be tricking.

What makes this gadget special is that it has:

a push-tip area applicator on the bottom to target private weeds,
a hand pump sprayer for more comprehensive multi-weed killing, and
a dispenser “drizzle cap” for putting herbicide on a line of weeds.
Readily available as an independently acquired product is an adaptor to convert a knapsack tank to fit the FreedomWeeder (we did not examine this).

At 44 inches in length, the 1-1/4 ″ tube can hold 20 oz. of liquid herbicide (or any other liquid, including fertilizer). And at around 3 lbs (empty), it’s a relatively lightweight product to bring around your lawn.

Herbicide Application Methods
Spot Application– The most interesting feature of this product is the spot applicator. By pushing down on the pin at the bottom of television, organic or artificial herbicide is metered out in a little or big puddle (depending upon how long the pin is depressed).

Spray Application– For areas of larger weed protection, there is a helpful pump sprayer that snaps onto the top of the FreedomWeeder tube. Just pull the pump off, turn the nozzle cap to the ON position, and you’re prepared to begin spraying those large nasty weeds.

Before utilizing the sprayer, make sure you read the whole Owner User Guide from start to finish as it speaks about safety while utilizing the FreedomWeeder in “wind drift” conditions, and the hazards of both natural and synthetic herbicides becoming airborne in this type of weather condition.

A screw put cap is located at the top of the tube where the liquid herbicide is poured in.

Drizzle/Pour Application– The FreedomWeeder likewise has the capability to “sprinkle” the herbicide through a hole in the top of the fill cap (the hole also acts to prevent a vacuum build-up in television while utilizing the pump sprayer or a spot applicator).

The problem with this technique is that I found percentages of herbicide would collect in the fill cap and run down the side of the tube. Given, you ought to be using the proper safety gloves (preferably chemical resistant), however I personally don’t like the concept that I can be available in contact with the herbicide (either organic or synthetic). Plus, the dripping herbicide is simply one more thing to tidy up.

I would remove this hole and utilize the pump sprayer instead. If there is a vacuum accumulation without having a hole, I ‘d try to craft a check valve system where the air can stream into television however the chemical can not go out.

Handy Storage Clip
Included in the package is a ‘PUSH-N-SNAP’ wall storage clip. It is installed to a wall with 2 sheet rock screws (provided– they come attached to the FreedomWeeder with masking tape). This is a split cylinder of plastic that the system is snapped into so that it can be hung vertically off the ground (without the spot applicator pointer touching the ground).
