Foxgloves Works Gardening Gloves: Product Review

Foxgloves Works

How do you choose which pair of gardening gloves to purchase when there are numerous to pick from? And are there any good well-rounded gloves that will work well for nearly all gardening jobs so you do not require to purchase an entire lot of gloves– one for each gardening job?

One great choice is the Foxgloves Works gardening gloves. These tough gloves have suede palms for added protection and an elastic nylon back for included flexibility and convenience.

I use the Foxgloves Works gardening gloves for those chores that need more protection for hands and more water resistance than you may find with lighter-duty gloves. They fit well and are fantastic for lifting and moving rocks, bricks, big trunks and branches, large containers, and removing thorny weeds/plants.

Extra Protection For Your Hands
The Foxgloves Works gardening gloves have a cushioned artificial suede palm with reinforced fingertips (in black) to safeguard your fingers and palms from cuts and swellings. The product is tough enough to stand up to a great deal of abuse.

There’s also a light layer of cushioning across the knuckles that gives some additional defense.

Snug, Comfortable Fit
The gloves have a stretch nylon back. It’s difficult to see from the photos once you put the gloves on you feel the stretch nylon and how the fit around the wrist is tapered so the gloves appear to hug the wrist (which is terrific for keeping dirt and particles out of the gloves).

Despite the suede, the Works gloves feel “breathable,” which is important in heat.

Colors
These gloves are readily available in 2 colors: aqua and brick red. The suede part is black on both colors.

Sizing
The Foxgloves Works gloves are readily available in 4 sizes: little, medium, large, and extra-large. I use the medium size and find that for work gloves, these are the best fitting for a woman’s hands. Many work gloves are too big and not tapered.

If you do not know your size (and do not presume that you do– all gloves fit differently), utilize the following info from the Foxgloves site–.

Little: fits glove size 6– 6 1/2, for petite and short fingered hands.
Medium: fits gloves size 6 1/2– 8, for a lot of hands.
Big: fits glove size 8 1/2– 9 1/2.
X-Large: fits glove size 10– 11.
And, in case you have forgotten your size when you have to purchase more, the size is on the within the glove.

Maker Washable For Easy Cleaning.
The Foxgloves Works gardening gloves are machine washable and although they can be put in the clothes dryer the business advises line drying. I tend to let the gloves dry after gardening and after that brush off the dirt to secure the suede as much as possible. I put them in the cleaning maker only if I have actually been operating in mud and even then I clean them with the hose outside before dropping them in the washer. I don’t put them in the clothes dryer– I let them hang dry instead. After duplicated use and many washes, the gloves are still in excellent condition.

Warranty.
Foxgloves provides a warranty that the Works gardening gloves will be devoid of any manufacturer’s flaws. They’ll change any glove found to be faulty due to defective product or maker flaw for thirty days from date of purchase. Hang on to your receipt– an outdated invoice must accompany the request for replacement gloves.

About the Company.
The Foxgloves company is owned by a female horticulturist and landscape designer/architect in New York. She created a line of gloves and began selling them online in 1999. Foxgloves Works is a fairly new introduction given that her initial line of Foxgloves (see our evaluation of the Foxgloves Original gardening gloves).

Recommendation.
I recommend Foxgloves Works gardening gloves for a number of factors: they’re the very best fitting for a female’s hands, simple to tidy, long lasting, and supply the extra defense you need when lifting rough things and pulling thorny weeds.
